STOCKTON Centre maintenance staff will hold a report-back meeting at 7am today on a union meeting yesterday with Department of Community Services director Carmel Niland.
Plumbers' union organiser Stephen McCarney said the unions were unhappy with the department's position.
`They told us in writing yesterday that the decision to contract out about 70 maintenance services at Stockton, Peat Island and Marsden, in Sydney, will not be reversed,' Mr McCarney said yesterday.
Ms Niland said yesterday that trades staff would be able to tender for the maintenance work against the private sector.
She said expressions of interest for the work had been put back from September 30 to December 31.
